Cortone (Cortona en italien) est un petit village attrayant perché au sommet d’une colline, à 650 mètres d’altitude. Elle offre de ses sommets une vue sur tout le Val di Chiana. Un monastère domine le village, il est indiqué depuis le bas du village, mais l'ascension se rélève assez sportive. Cortone offre plain de bons restaurants et des cafés.

Local craftsmen sell their products – ceramics and water paintings – from shops in the town. The Museo Diocesano houses several masterpieces from the period between the 13th and the 16th century e.g. by artists like Angelico, Cortona-born Luca Signorelli and Duccio.
