Maison/Villa Borgo San Lorenzo

This recently restored villa is set on the top of an Appenine Hill on the border of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna. The villa is comfortably divided into two large apartments each sleeping 8 persons.

The views are astunning in either direction, ranges of hills going on forever. Emilia Romagna is the region of good cooking: Tortellini, Parma ham, Parmesan cheese, Bolognese ragù, ravioli are all from this area. Tredozio itself, the small town at the foot of the hill, boasts a Michelin starred restaurant whose chef will come and cook for you on request. Tredozio also hosts concerts during the summer ranging from Jazz to Chamber music, and has tennis courts, shops and restaurants.

You enter the house into an enormous dining hall, which has a table large enough for 16 people if the whole house is rented together. Next to this entrance hall there is also a kitchen that is opened when the house is rented as a whole. The stairs lead into a large living room with a working fireplace surrounded by comfortable sofas. To the left is an equipped kitchen. To the right of the living room a corridor leads to the four bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, though not en-suite. At the end of the corridor a terrace allows beautiful views over the swimming pool and the hills of Emilia Romagna.

Taken together, these 2 apartments combine very well to make a single house for 16. Every bedroom has its own bathroom and the lower floor has many doors onto the garden, making the building wonderfully usable in the summer. A central hall becomes a dining room large enough for 16 to dine together, and an extra kitchen can be opened up next to the dining hall. Both apartments have utility rooms with washing machines. The swimming pool has 2 covered pergolas.

The layout of the house makes it easy to use all the rooms comfortably as a large group. All the rooms are decorated with art, prints and artworks to make the house warm and interesting.

It is possible to have dinners prepared on request.

Local products: honey, cheese, eggs, olive oil, vegetables, chickens, rabbits are grown and produced on the estate and can be purchased directly).
