Villefranche-sur-Mer lies beautifully in a little bay east of Nice. It is a picturesque little port which has, despite its situation close to Nice, retained its original charm with the many ochre-shaded houses. By the harbour there is a little rose-pink chapel, Chapelle St. Pierre, decorated by Jean Cocteau. Villefranche-sur-Mer lies across from the millionaires’ peninsula, Cap-Ferrat, jutting decoratively out into the sea. In the bay one can also find a nice little beach.
