Caseneuve

Caseneuve
Caseneuve is a charming, little medieval village, beautifully situated in the heart of Parc Natural Régional du Lubéron between the two mountain ranges, Plateau de Vaucluse and Montagne du Lubéron. Caseneuve lies on top of a little isolated cliff, east of Apt. Due to its scenic natural surroundings, a holiday in one of Provacances’ houses in Caseneuve offers good possibilities for sightseeing tours and all sorts of outdoor activities, including walking, cycling, climbing and rafting.

Caseneuve

Caseneuve is nothing but a small spot on the map, but the town has, however, lots of attractions.

It is a typically Provencal, medieval village with narrow streets, old stone houses, vaulted passages and old fortification walls. Some of the newer houses are integrated in the old fortification walls where there are three original towers. The town is dominated by the 11th century, impressive, well-restored château in Provencal-Roman style. Unfortunately the castle is privately owned and, for this reason, closed to the public. From the outside, however, one can admire the massive castle with its high towers and tall, white stone walls.
Landscape near Caseneuve

There are several good walking paths around the town.

One can also walk all the way to the sources sulfurieuse - some sulphurous wells by the Vallon du Bassis.
